Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
I’m convinced my former high school English teacher didn’t enjoy my 1970s disco inspired remake of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew because he mistakenly thought I badmouthed Jefferson Airplane. I made an afro with pantyhose, and he deducted marks to uphold Grace Slick’s honour. Well, that and the unclear delivery of my lines.
To be absolutely honest I wasn’t at all keen of these guys the first time I listen to the, much less captivated. But I found that they really have a mello, deep meaning to their sounds that may take some getting used to if you’re prone to bands like indiepop. But I have an immense likeness of them now. I suppose it was only a matter of time before you saw the big x’s on itsjustindie >.<! Enjoi!
If you like slow songs, this is for you. If you like slow songs that pick up towards to middle and keep you interested. Guess what? This is for you too. If you haven’t listened to these guys before this is a great introduction.
The xx - Crystalised
I’m surprised that I haven’t posted anything from The xx, especially this song, sooner. I’ve gone on and on about this band for almost a year now, so I should be happy I didn’t turn into a “The Dos Equis doesn’t meet my fleeting and highly refined tastes anymore because that band is so 2009” kind of guy. Yet.
